Assisting employees to achieve their academic dreams
At PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America®), we believe that our employees are our most valuable resource. That is why we believe so strongly in investing in their future. In order to attract and retain the very best talent in the industry, private donors established an endowment to assist employees seeking to gain certification, licensure or a degree from an accredited educational program that relates to an employee’s job.
Each year, through the PMMA® Employee Scholarship Program, employees may be awarded funds towards tuition, books or fees. Applicants are required to write a short essay about how the course of study will benefit PMMA and include both a cost estimate for the courses they plan to take, and a letter of recommendation from their executive director. Eligibility for education assistance lasts for one academic year, and employees must re-apply for assistance each year.
Last year, the PMMA Education Committee awarded scholarships to 24 recipients totaling nearly $43,000 for the 2021-22 academic year. Thanks to you, these employees received funds to pursue educational dreams and grow in their field of study.
