Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor’s annual golf tournament “Golfin’ for Good Sam” returns in May, continuing a long-standing tradition that benefits seniors in need. Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Winfield Country Club, 2916 Country Club Road in Winfield. Registration begins at 7:30 through 9 a.m., tee-off is at 9:30 a.m. The golf tournament’s name is a reference to the tournament’s support of PMMA’s Good Samaritan Program, which provides financial support for local Presbyterian Manor seniors who have, at no fault of their own, outlived their financial resources.
One of the tournament’s tradition is the Karl Faidley Golf Ball Drop. At the tournament, golf balls representing purchased opportunities will be dropped from a bucket truck above, with the three numbered golf balls landing closest to the stake winning a prize. The fundraiser is named in memory of Karl Faidley, the husband of Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor resident Dorothy Faidley, and a long-time volunteer and supporter of the golf tournament. You do not have to be a golfer to participate in this event. The golf ball drop is scheduled for 9:15 a.m.
The tournament is a four-player scramble with a $100 registration fee per player which includes green fees, cart and lunch.
